‍While his father grew grapes for other Champagne producers, Julien Prélat decided to take on the tile of Recoltant Manipulant and make his own wine. He stewards vineyards in the humble and agrarian village of Celles-sur-Ource in the Côtes de Bar.

‍Keen oenophiles might recognize Julien’s village, Celles-sur-Ource, from another producer we love, Cedric Bouchard. Like Cedric, Julien's close friend, he crafts his wines to reflect his terroir, making cuvées that represent a single soil, a single grape variety, and a single year.

Julien crafts his wines to reflect his vineyards, making cuvées that represent a single soil, a single grape variety, and a single year. The results are completely singular Champagnes. Each one is a unique expression of the place and grape and time rather than a slavish house style.
